Museums are extremely sensitive places for very different reasons. Priceless artifacts can be lost forever as a result of pest damage or exposure to certain pesticides. The Field Museum is one of Smithereen’s oldest customers and much of our IPM expertise and experience is a result of our work there. The Art Institute of Chicago is a newer customer, but it’s facilities also put our expertise and experience to the test. Protecting our heritage of natural history and the arts is a responsibility we proudly accept. Municipal locations such as park district facilities, libraries, fire stations, police stations, meeting rooms and auditoriums are important and sensitive areas. Protecting these taxpayer owned facilities, the service providers who work there, and the public making use of them is another responsibility Smithereen takes very seriously.
