Dennis began his pest management career with Smithereen in 1983 as a route technician. He left to gain further experience with Rentokil, Bugs Burger and Ecolab; in restaurants, hospitals, hotels and food processing facilities.

During Dennis’ 25 year career he has held positions in commercial field specialized service trainer, food/beverage and food processing quality assurance trainer, inventory control, corporate national accounts liaison, national trouble shooting service support team, and regional sales manager.


After working his way to central states district manager, regional sales manager and then a national regional manager. Dennis took time off to study law in the school of professional paralegal studies in Norcross, Ga. Dennis obtained his diploma certification as a paralegal, decided to return to the pest management industry with Smithereen in 2002 as Operations Manager of our Midlothian office.

About his return Dennis has said, “I consider it an excellent opportunity to apply the experience I have acquired with a great pioneer company like Smithereen. The family atmosphere is truly different from most of the corporate world and I appreciate the way Smithereen maintains the importance of each customer in a day to day planning and execution.”

Dennis has completed certification training in Understanding Management, Leadership Structure & Development, Managing Customer Relations, MRA Principals of Management and is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He is a past vice president of the Illinois Lions Club, Precinct Captain, U.S. Naval sea cadet and an Eagle Scout – Order of the Arrow.

Dennis is currently certified with the Illinois Department of Public Health in – general core, restricted use – birds, insects and rodents, food service, termites; with the Illinois Department of Agriculture in – general core, mosquito; with Indiana State Chemist in – general core, mosquito; and with the Three Rivers Safety Council.

Dennis is married with a son, daughter and a granddaughter; he enjoys rehabbing properties, music, reading, motor cycle riding, traveling, golf, and a great cigar.
