National Pest Management Association (NPMA)
Our membership with the NPMA, which includes over 7,000 pest management professionals and companies, helps to advance the solutions within our industry. Through the non-profit NPMA association we can gain access to educational opportunities, technical resources and network with other like-minded public health-minded organizations so that we can achieve the results our customers demand.
Greater Chicago Pest Management Alliance (GCPMA)
Through the GCPMA Smithereen Pest Management is able to partner with local companies. Not only does working with local manufacturers and suppliers help keep our costs down, but we also stay more informed about the latest state legislation and compliance requirements that impact our business practices along with the health and safety concerns of our customers.
Midwest Pesticide Action Center
Smithereen Pest Management is committed to minimizing the use of pesticides. As a member of the Midwest Pesticide Action Center we aim to do our part in reducing the use of toxic chemical pesticides and advancing state and local policies. We practice pest management using effective pesticide alternatives in support of community health and wellness for current residents and tenants, in addition to our future generations.
US Green Building Council
Our involvement with the USGBC helps focus our pest management solutions on bettering the environments where people live, work and play. When we comply with USGBC and LEED values of sustainability, reduced greenhouse emissions and environmentally friendly building operations, we contribute to this growing sector while providing a desirable outcome for our customers, including their families, tenants and employees.
IPM Institute of North America
Through IPM of North America Smithereen Pest Management is able to leverage our integrated pest management (IPM) efforts in support of public safety and health alongside similar companies and projects that embody similar ideals. By coming together with like-minded organizations we can help to further the reach of IPM practices across various industries ranging from agriculture to public and private facilities.
Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA)
The CAA advocates in support of multi-family rental properties throughout the Chicagoland area for building owners, managers and developers. As part of this trade association, Smithereen Pest Management works to inform and train business and buildings managers on pertinent pest management concerns and strategies. The CAA operates as a local affiliate of its parent organization, the NAA, or National Apartment Association.
Building Owners and Managers Associations (BOMA Kansas & Illinois)
Involvement with BOMA assists Smithereen Pest Management with staying on top of the latest building regulations for owners, renters and managers. By keeping up to date with the products and services that different types of building facilities and managers are seeking, we can ensure that our services meet trending and growing demands in the pest management arena.
Entomological Society of America (ESA)
Our partnership with the ESA helps the team at Smithereen Pest Management stay abreast of the latest developments affecting our industry. Our team of knowledgeable scientists and industry professionals gain insight on health related entomological information and then use this data in support of our insect and pest mitigation efforts.
Illinois Healthcare Association (IHCA)
The non-profit association of IHCA advocates on behalf of the health and safety of residents of numerous types of long term healthcare facilities as well as programs for the developmentally disabled. This partnership assists Smithereen Pest Management with abiding by the necessary health care regulations and policies that ultimately contribute to the health and ongoing wellness of member facility residents.
Illinois Nursing Home Administrative Association (INHAA)
Smithereen Pest Management’s affiliation with the INHAA helps us provide nursing homes and long term care facilities with pest management solutions that cater to health care supplier and partner requirements. By working in support of both nursing home administrators and long term care residents, we can uphold the standards of this industry and help guarantee the wellness goals and quality care that these facilities demand.
Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA)

Involvement in the LeadingAge Illinois association makes it easy for our team to partner with local providers and community services focused on seniors and continuing care facilities. This partnership also ensures that we can cater our solutions to relevant public policies that uphold standards for retirement homes and senior health care program facilities.
Through our partnership with MCD Media, Smithereen Pest Management is able to keep tabs on the changing priorities of Chicago area condo buildings, professional office environments and other public buildings. Through MCD Media we have the opportunity to connect with building owners and managers and work together to solve pest challenges for each unique building and space.
Institute of Real Estate Managers and Professionals (IREM Kansas & Illinois)
